Position Opening: Shop Craftsperson

Philadelphia | Full-Time or Flex-Time

Kole Made seeks a skilled woodworker with passion for the craft and experience in the field. The ideal candidate thrives in creative, collaborative settings, while being able to handle physically-demanding work in a shop environment. Kole craftspeople also spend time in the field, installing millwork and performing occasional carpentry work. This position provides opportunity to demonstrate and refine skills in fine woodworking, cabinet and furniture making, and renovation projects. No two projects are alike, and will vary from bespoke cabinetry and built-ins, to custom furniture pieces, to unique bathroom vanities.

Essential qualities & skills:

  • 2+ years in woodworking preferred; other levels of experience considered

  • Comfortable and capable in a shop environment

  • Demonstrable experience with hand and power tools

  • Some experience with shop machinery

  • Driven, focused, and punctual

  • Safe working habits: personal and team safety is our top priority

  • Shop math proficient: taking precise measurements and reading shop drawings

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as taking initiative to work independently

  • Ability to give and take constructive feedback, and problem-solve on the fly

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the fabrication of Kole’s various custom projects - each one is different!

  • Taking projects from design to final completion with the team

  • Tasks such as cutting, milling, sanding, finishing, and assembly

  • Assist on job-site installations

  • Help maintain a clean, safe, organized shop environment

  • Help meet project deadlines and team goals

  • Collaboratively explore, expand, and innovate the team’s methods of building

Position details:

  • Schedule: Full-time or part-time

  • Start Date: Immediately

  • Compensation: Rate depends on candidate’s existing skill level; $22-25/hr, DOE and level of commitment.

  • *Note: Apprentice positions occasionally available for those with 1yr experience or less.
