Position Opening: Construction Project Manager
Philadelphia | Full/part time or project-based
Kole Made Design/Build seeks a skilled construction project manager to help oversee our various residential and commercial building projects. The ideal candidate will possess a wide-ranging knowledge of construction best practices, be a creative problem-solver who can effectively combine safety, design, functionality, and budget considerations in their day-to-day work, and be a warm, emotionally-intelligent communicator who treats our clients and their spaces with care and respect. This is a great opportunity to work with a small, close-knit team doing artistic construction work throughout the Philadelphia area.
Essential qualities & skills:
Knowledge of all major components of construction projects (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, framing, etc.), and an understanding of how the components all come together and impact each other
Excellent problem solving skills with an ability to analyze and prioritize multiple variables at once
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; the position involves lots of interaction with clients and tradespeople
Emotional intelligence: construction projects can be very stressful on clients; you must be sympathetic to their feelings and help where you can
Strong organization skills and the ability to track and communicate project progress with clients and the rest of the Kole Made team
Ability to read blueprints and understand how they translate to the built world
Ability to give respect to all parties on the project and be able to resolve problems peacefully
Familiarity with local building codes
Familiarity with Sketchup and Apple/Microsoft work suite preferred
Responsibilities:
Schedule, coordinate, and oversee tradespeople on site and be the go-to responsible party for site problems
Coordinate material ordering and deliveries on site with proper sequencing (when applicable)
Maintain regular communication with clients and provide updates about progress, decisions to be made, and check points, and be their main point of contact throughout the project
Meet regularly with clients on site for milestone meetings and communicate progress regularly with progress
Assist in assembling estimates for projects
Maintain a clean and safe job site (this can mean sometimes being the one who cleans it)
Requirements
Minimum 3 years in the construction industry as a builder, project manager, architect/design professional, or other related trade
A willingness to learn Kole Made’s ways of working
OSHA 30 certification (desirable)
