Compensation: Rate depends on candidate’s existing skill level; starting rate $22-26/hr, DOE and level of commitment.

The KOLE team is comprised of dedicated artisan professionals who attend to each project with great care and consideration. We service both residential and commercial projects, performing work that honors the roots of our trade and pushes the boundaries of design to arrive at beautiful, functional spaces.
Role Overview: KOLE seeks a skilled woodworker with passion for the craft and experience in the field. The ideal candidate thrives in creative, collaborative settings, while being able to handle physically-demanding work in a shop environment. KOLE craftspeople also spend time in the field, installing millwork and performing occasional carpentry work.
This position provides opportunity to demonstrate and refine skills in fine woodworking, cabinet and furniture making, and renovation projects. No two projects are alike, and will vary from bespoke cabinetry and built-ins, to custom furniture pieces, to unique bathroom vanities.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Performing all tasks while following safe practices and utilizing proper PPE
Keeping track of inventory and informing Shop Lead of consumables to replenish
Assist Shop Lead in training of new shop staff, tailored to their current level of experience
Maintain a clean and safe work environment throughout the day
Maintain tools and equipment both on site and in the shop
Quality control of individual tasks, bringing up concerns to Shop Lead
Professional interaction with coworkers and clients
Informing Shop Supervisor or Management of any fabrication concerns, or equipment issues
Essential Qualities & Skills
Minimum 2-3+ years experience in woodworking; 5+ years preferred. All applications welcome.
Proficient with most shop tools and able to understand essential functions of equipment in other departments (saws, sanders, routers, and hand tools)
Some experience with sanding and finishes
Proficient in shop math: measure up to 1/32 of an inch
Ability to read shop drawings from Sketchup or Mozaik
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
Ability to time manage
Good communication skills both verbal and written
Can synthesize information from multiple sources
Meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
Attention to detail
Can pivot from one project to another
Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as taking initiative to work independently
Ability to give and take constructive feedback, and problem-solve on the fly
Essential Tasks
Executing certain fabrication processes as directed by Shop Lead or Shop Supervisor
Problem solving custom and specialty fabrication projects as needed
Installing cabinetry and built-ins as needed with supervision
Occasional construction site work as needed with supervision
Sanding projects and applying finishes as requested by clients specifications(some spray, some hand applied)
Lifting and moving plywood, lumber, and finished projects.
Following cut lists or shop drawings to break down plywood accurately on table saws
Milling lumber to specified dimensions
